Irene is a graduate student at the NYU Vilcek program. She received her BS and MS in biology from UCSD, where she studied the role of protein tyrosine phosphatases in autoimmune diseases such rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerosis. Outside of the lab, you can find her exploring different running paths in the city, drinking all kinds of caffeinated beverages, and trying to finish knitting/crocheting projects.
